Desert Blues

In the Dubai desert, a group of semiconductor industry glitterati throw off their suits after the first day of the International Electronics Forum 2008 and and form a blues group.

Left to Right: Aart de Geus, CEO of Synopsys on guitar, back row Malcolm Penn, CEO of Future Horizons, on drums and David Ridsdale, editor of EuroAsia Semiconductor, on harmonica, front row Rolf- Juergen Bruess, formerly of Infineon Technologies on guitar, in the back row, Jeff Baloun CEO Intera on guitar, front row Guillaume d'Eyssautier, CEO of picoChip vocalist and Alexander Kurliandsky, general director of Electronintorg, on keyboard.

This was the third time delegates to the International Electronics Forum have got together to form a blues band. The first time was at IEF2002 in Rabat, Morocco, and the second time was at IEF2006 in Budapest on a boat on the Danube.
