Fable: The Wonderful Microprocessor

There was once a CEO whose company made a wonderful microprocessor. He was so proud of it that he wanted as many people as possible to use it.

 

So he licensed it widely. So widely that many people produced it and, because there were so many sources, it was sold very inexpensively.

 So although it became the most popular microprocessor in the world, for the first ten years of the microprocessor's lifetime, the CEO did not make one penny piece of profit from it.

 

MORAL:  Never forget business fundamentals in the pursuit of glory
