Fable: Putting Arrogance Before Customers

There was once a company which was highly regarded for its technological excellence. One day, one of its products was found to be faulty.

 

The company did nothing about the fault, believing that very few customers would be affected by it. It kept on selling the faulty product.

 

When it became widely known that the company was going to do nothing about its faulty product, there was a public outcry.

 

The company was forced to put right the fault, and replace all the faulty products at a write-down cost of $475 million.

 

But the damage to its reputation had been done.

 

MORAL: Don't let arrogance come before customer approval.
