The CEO's Daughter's Boyfriend

CEOs go through some of the same merde as the rest of us, as this tale, told to me by a Silicon Valley CEO, shows.

The CEO had gone to visit his grown-up daughter who has a flat in the Valley area.

When he got there he had to go through that ordeal experienced by all fathers when some youth is introduced to them by their daughter, who then leaves father and boyfriend together to get acquainted.

The CEO made the usual polite enquiries about the young man's line of work. It turns out he's a venture capitalist.

With all the cockiness of youth, the young man added: "And my company has invested in a company in the UK which is going to put your company out of business."

Well ain't that all you need?
