The boss of IBM, Sam Palmisano, has put up an economic recovery plan for the
Palmisano's plan involves public/private investment in making systems for utility grids, traffic management, food distribution, water conservation and health care more efficient.
Sixty-seven percent of electrical energy, according to Palmisano, is lost because of inefficient power generation and grid management. Congested highways cost $78 billion a year in lost working hours and wasted petrol.
Curiously, IBM supplies systems which mange utility grids and traffic management.
