Well, here they are, the top ten items on the semiconductor industry's wish-list:
A non-leaky process technology
System-level EDA as silicon-efficient as block-level EDA
A killer app
More semiconductor-savvy CEOs
IP that is fully declared, open, transparent and costed for licensing.
Low-cost, low-power, high performance, dense programmable logic.
A lithography tool capable of sub-10nm features
Mass-manufacturable 3-D transistors
Roll-up or fold-up displays

We do have the last one, don't we? Althought I believe it is still looking for #3, a killer app.

I certainly haven't seen a roll-up or fold-up display. Do you know of one? I'd be very interested

There are a couple of companies trying to commercialize similar technology based on organic electronic back planes.

Yes, but I don't think they are anywhere near having a commercial product - so far as I'm aware

OK, but I have not heard that either company has a roll-up colour screen of good enough quality and sufficiently robust to be used in a cellphone. It seems to me that mobile Internet, especially TV-to-the-cellphone, won't really be popular untill such a screen can be incorporated in mobile phones. But that, when we get such a screen, it will be a huge boost to cellphone sales and mobile data usage.
