Peace Envoy For The Chop

So what's the Middle East Peace Envoy been doing this last eighteen months?  Not very much to judge by the carnage in the Middle East.

It now turns out that in his eighteen months as Peace Envoy he's never visited Gaza. How awful is that?

When your Middle East Peace Envoy is as useful as a chocolate teapot, it's not surprising the Middle East is in this mess.

The word out  of Washington is that the President-elect shares this view, and that the Peace Envoy will be getting his marching orders under the new administration.

Which means the Peace Envoy can go back to setting up schools like the Tony Blair Faith Foundation.

He wanted to set up the Tony Blair School for International Relations at the LSE until it got laughed out of court for being as appropriate as the Saddam Hussein School For Human Rights.

But no one would question the appropriateness of  one academy: The Tony Blair School For Being A Lying Little Shit.

Yes, JP, but it's right, isn't it?

blair was always an arriviste little shit

Spot on, Bill, as Blair's great mucker, Lord Levy, said of him, Blair was only ever in it for himself

James Taylor:

Ummm - this column appears to be turning a bit Richard Littlejohn.

I dislike Blair as much as the next one but it's a bit crass

Yes you're probably right, James, but that guy pisses me off so much.

Guru Sardessai:

I believe many problems around us stem from the perceived unfairness of the world to the middle east crisis. To some extent even the attack in Mumbai had a link there. Blair was simply going along with whatever his friend across the atlantic was doing. Before he came along, UK was fair and had a balanced view of the world.

You're absolutely right, Guru, Bush and Blair hopelessly skewed the West's position as honest broker. You get the impression that Pres. Obama, Hillary Clinton and George Mitchell will restore the West's reputation.
