Thanks to Future Horizons for this one. From a PC & Server market worth $85 billion in 2013, to a mobile phone market worth $60.7 billion in 2013 down to a Digital Audio Player market which will be worth just over $4 billion (and dropping), these will be  the top ten semiconductor applications in four years' time.

REALLY???? Thanks for wasting our time

Sometimes the obvious is good, Captain, lke having enough lifeboats in iceberg territory. Good sailing.

Could not agree with you more David,

This link:-

Takes you to a review of a book titled 'The Mind of the CEO'. Read the article, read the book. Both appear to have been published yesterday in response to where we are now, as CEOs grapple with the huge global economic downturn - leaving many captains of the hi-tec industry powerless as to what to do next. In fact, both were published in 2001, the dot.com bubble burst.

Begs the question, what did we, and our captains learn in the intervening 8 years? 2013 is only 4 years from now. Enough time to learn the lessons of the recent past and change to meet new market conditions?

More lifeboats seems a sensible precaution - and for Captain Obvious remember 90% of an iceberg is below water - you might only just see 10% of what you are going to hit.

Good luck

Titanic Survivor.

Thanks Titanic Survivor, sounds like wisdom to me
