FPGA start-up Tier Logic, currently beavering away in Stealth Mode in Santa Clara, has reassured its IC designers that their jobs won't be relocated to exotic, Far Eastern climes.
On The Tier Logic Web-Site is posted this Notice:
'FPGA startup Tier Logic stated today that it has no plans to move its Santa Clara engineering team to Malaysia or Singapore. "We gather that the traditional FPGA companies are moving more and more of their functions offshore and we hear that many engineers are excited at the prospect of moving from Silicon Valley to enticing beach-based locations such as Penang. Admittedly, they have to buy their own plane tickets, they have to leave their families behind, and they only get paid one third of their current salaries, but the commute's better and there's a lot more beach time, we understand. Oh--and it's good if you like fish," said a Tier Logic spokesman.'
The Notice continues:
'While engineers at these traditional companies, trapped in interminable meetings, may find this trend appealing, Tier Logic moved today to state firmly that its engineers have real work to do, it needs them here, and there's no time for them to go to the beach. Tier Logic management has, however, agreed to subsidize fish lunches once a week.'
