FTDI’s EVE video processor chip is a smart little building block. Designed to display animated graphics, all screen positions are calculated on the fly, so it doesn’t need video ram, and it has all sorts of built-in screen items – displaying a clock, for example, takes only four simple commands.
Now the firm has combined it with an Arduino clone and a display, and put it in a case suitable for development or building into products – neat idea. Here is EW’s original EVE article.
