List of high concern substances

I asked the Health & Safety Executive when we might see the list of high risk substances for REACH.

Their reply:

“The list you appear to be referring to is the so-called 'candidate list' of substances of very high concern. It's possible that this could be published by the European Chemicals Agency (on their website) this year but our expectation is that it will be early next year”.

“A list of those substances of very high concern that are made subject to authorisation will be published as Annex XIV of REACH. This will be a relatively short list, derived from the candidate list, and will be updated at least every 2 years. The Agency must publish the first Annex XIV list by 1 June 2009”.

A while to wait yet then!!
