Gary Nevison is
Farnell's spokesperson and customer interface on legislation that affects the electronics industry, such as the RoHS (all variations around the world, including China RoHS) REACH, EuP, WEEE and Battery Directives. As part of this, Nevison has spoken extensively at legislation and environmental seminars throughout Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. He also writes a regular, interactive blog in the UK as well as China and North America.
With 32 years service at Farnell, including over 20 years in Product Development, he has widespread experience in the electronic components industry, Nevison is an active figure in the market place, having sat on the AFDEC (Association of Franchised Distributors of Electronic Components) Council, representing UK distribution, until recently and continues to actively update its members on the subject of legislation.
During 2005, Nevison was also Chairman of the European organisation DMASS (Distributors and Manufacturers Association of Semiconductor Specialists) and has recently taken up the role of Deputy Chairman of Electronics Yorkshire where he has been a board member for four years, helping businesses in the UK, in particular training on legislative matters.
In 2008 Nevison twice visited India and raised awareness on the various EU Directives, in particular RoHS and WEEE legislation.
