China RoHS Developments

After several dormant months the Chinese government's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has issued a proposal, open to comments, on "China RoHS" that has been in force since March 2007.

In what could be a response to the EU proposing an open scope on RoHS (vote on the recast expected in October) "Electronic Information Products" will become broader and change to "Electronic and Electrical Products". The 6 EU-RoHS substances remain the same as do labelling requirements such as the Environment Friendly Use Period and packaging labels.
