Dear Mr manners
I need some help. I've been reading tons about the semi conductor industry because I am researching it for a documentary I am making about wearable devices of the future. I am trying to find out where the manufacturers, the Foundries, are in Europe but its very difficult. I am particularly interested in some of the products I have been reading about made by Qualcomm and Samsung but where do they make their chips? Samsung seem to make all theirs in Asia but that's too far for me. I have been speaking to IMEC in Leuven and they say Qualcomm have a deal with them but they won't let me film there. Do you know where the Qualcomm foundry is so i can contact them direct for a filming permissions.
many thanks
nick

Nick, Qualcomm does not have any foundries in Europe. The company you need to contact is TSMC, in Hsin-Chu in Taiwan - they produce Qualcomm's chips.
Best, Alun Williams
