My monitor is considerably bigger than yours...

Are you sitting in front of a small, fat, flickering CRT or a matt-black, modern-day widescreen LCD?

HitBox throws up so many stats for a webmaster - see The wonder of HitBox leaves me wondering - and one of them concerns the display resolution of users viewing the site, which is a very good indication of monitor size.

The trend for displays, of course, is inevitably towards wider-screen, high-resolution LCD screens. And as you can see, 1024 x 768 pixels leads the way (31.64%), but it is almost matched (in combination) by the more modern larger sizes - 1280 x 1024 pixels (25.11%) 1600 x 1200 pixels (3.92%) and 1152 x 864 pixels (2.52%)

The days of 800 x 600 monitors are not completely past, however, as can be seen (2%).

For the record, I'm still using a CRT monitor (1024 x 768), but no info is given on the LCD - CRT divide...

And I'm not quite sure how smartphone users would be represented. But anyway, the usage of the site via mobiles is a whole different kettle of Samsungs and Nokias...
