Chips and Beer - we need your help!

Silicon-InnWeb small.jpgA new blog is about to launch on Electronics Weekly, in a week or so, and we need your help to make it work!

The semiconductor industry routinely trails around the same places in the world, and then in the evening a tricky question sometimes surfaces: Where can I get a decent pint?

The map-based blog Chips and Beer might help you find one, and gives you the chance to help others find one, too.

Basically, we want you to let us know of places that serve good beer in the far flung places the electronics industry touches. Preferably, it will be a brew pub or at the very least a pub that keeps a good pint.

Please email me at  webmaster@electronicsweekly.com giving your suggestions.

It's the beer that counts, in Chips and Beer, in that we are not after live music spots or the busiest or most fashionable hang-outs. We are hoping to set the bar quite high - excuse the pun - for personally recommended places.

Yes, in theory, you might be able to research places yourself on the Web, but how much better to rely on strong recommendations from your industry peers?

We have entries for the following places, but we want more!

# Asia
    * Seoul (1)
    * Shanghai (1)
    * Singapore (3)
    * Tokyo (3)

# Europe
    * Grenoble (1)
    * Helsinki (4)
    * Munich (1)
    * Stockholm (2)
    * Tampere (1)
    * Toulouse (1)

# UK
    * Bath (11)
    * Cambridge (1)
    * Oxford (2)

# USA
    * Austin, Texas (1)
    * La Jolla, San Diego (1)
    * San Francisco (1)
    * San Jose (1)

Email webmaster@electronicsweekly.com to give your suggestions. Thank you!
