The Web never Sleeps!
I'm sure you have noticed that we've been busy redeveloping the ElectronicsWeekly.com homepage, and I hope you like the new look and feel and functionality.
It is the first of many changes to come in the coming months, as we rollout the new look across all other sections. Please think of the site as being in Beta for the next few months!
What have we changed?
Almost two years of research have gone into this re-design and we've talked to many electronics professionals, and performed numerous usability tests. And we certainly listened! We took note of what people liked about the old site and what they would like to see in the new site...

Almost two years of research have gone into this re-design and we've talked to many electronics professionals, and performed numerous usability tests. And we certainly listened! We took note of what people liked about the old site and what they would like to see in the new site...
DesignObviously we've re-vamped the design, refreshing it with a new layout. We've also changed the navigation, going horizontal to betting suit widescreen displays, with eleven categories of content easily accessible by the tabs across the top of the site. As before, most categories are broken down further into content sub-channels.
Functionality
As well as improving the site design, we've added a whole host of new functionality. I now have my own 'Editors Choice' section, highlighting my top picks from across the site. Please have a play around and investigate the homepage, which is built using Episerver, a cutting-edge web platform.
We've also introduced a 'News from around the Web' section, bringing you electronics developments from across the web, making us the only place you need to visit to keep up-to-date. We hope we will have covered all major news stories of interest, but you can bookmark our site safe in the knowledge that you will not be missing news elsewhere.
We also present the latest blog posts on the homepage, making them more accessible to a wider audience.
We've also added Polls to the homepage, to increase user-interaction. This is something we will be building on in the coming months. It will be a quick and easy way to test the temperature of our readers on particular topics and will hopefully provide an interesting new section as we build up a history of poll results.
And don't forget that, as before, news and lots of other content is added to the site throughout each day, so visit ElectronicsWeekly.com regularly to keep up-to-date with the latest in the electronics industry!
