Futurism: The digital-roll laptop

concept laptop.jpg

A glimpse of the future, maybe? The concept of a roll laptop definitely 'has legs' for me.

Thanks to Gizmodiva for flagging this one - designer Hao Hua envisaging a future laptop design, as "digital roll".

Short of speech-control solving the problem, there is surely always going to be a barrier for further miniaturisation of input and display. After all, the input keys must be of a certain size for the human finger to operate....

Flexible screens and input devices are an obvious solution, as they can take up less space than they occupy when fully extended. A very logical 21st century version of the fold-out keyboard, it seems to me.

Where can I place my pre-order?

The most uncomftable thing ever, look at the keyboard! then when i see the bottom of the screen i cant think of nothing else than carring a tube all around school, when actual laptops fold into the size of a notebook and fits perfect in a backpack...

this image is so dumb, total waste of time. Good render, no creativity at all.
