Digital Life: Honey, I shrunk the camera

chobi minicamera.jpgOne for the Digital Life category, and which caught my eye over the weekend.

This camera is so small, "you'll probably lose it the day you buy it", declares Technabob.

The Chobi micro digital camera apparently measures just 4.4 (w) x 2.9 (h) x 1.2 (d) cm.

According to the website:
The CHOBi mini camera can shoot images at 2048×1536 resolution (appx. 3-megapixels), and can capture video at 1280×960 resolution at 30fps. Images are stored on a microSDHC card (8GB max). Of course, you can't actually see what you're shooting through that microscopic viewfinder, so your cinematographical efforts will definitely be a crapshoot.
You would be able to buy this miniaturised gem for ¥13,850 from geekstuff4u.com.

Steve Kurt:

hi,

why does this remind me of the cheap little 110 film cameras from 30 years ago? Handy, modest quality, and you don't feel too bad if you drop it in your beer. And if I remember the yen conversion rate, this is around $15USD, right? Very tempting!

regards,
Steve

Cheers Steve. I'm afraid I think that was before my time (Sorry!) but you are talking to a guy who feels disposable ones provide quality images, so I probably won't be quibbling about the camera on quality grounds...
