Photos: Intel silicon photonics for 50Gbit/s links

Intel has stepped up its interest in using optical fibres for high speed interconnects in processor-based systems, reports Richard Wilson, and the visuals of the new photo gallery complement the text of the story.

The 50Gbit/s link in question is described as a "concept vehicle" that would allow Intel to test new ideas and continue its quest to develop technologies that transmit data using over optical fibres.
