In this new economy the one area of positive growth set for the next few years will be renewable energy. We know there has been a lot of talk about this but there is good reason to be more positive about what the UK is doing right now. Many people are nervous about getting involved because the previous government had a policy to implement more re-newable energy such as wind farms however, the emphasis was on the lowest price rather than the UK made which meant many of the wind turbines were being made overseas.
This government, however, sees the virtue in having the technology here in the UK, made in the UK for... well you get the idea!
Because we know the energy needs of the UK are estimated to rise 40% in the next 20 years there is a massive requirement for investment in new technologies. This is where we come in.
If you are still not convinced, listen to the BBC's Economics Editor Stephanie Flanders excellent new series The Search for Growth where this precise issue is discussed in detail. Visit www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00zdl1t/The_Search_for_Growth_Episode_1/
