I can't believe someone makes... Wi-Fi Dowsing Rods

Wi-Fi dowsing rod 1.jpgI can't believe someone makes a Wi-Fi Dowsing Rod, enabling us to go twitching for a decent 21st century wireless connection.

We've already poked fun at the Wi-Fi detecting baseball caps, which indicate a signal's strength and which you also have to take off to read, but this one takes the biscuit.

Actually, it is an ironic, knowing biscuit. It is artfully designed by one Mike Thompson, who "explores both old and new technologies in order to generate fresh relationships between function and behaviour, questioning common codes of conduct."

His other work includes blood lamps, beautiful rubbish and multi-story car parks...

Thanks to LikeCool for flagging this one.

Dowsing.... I fear that the electronic indication is missing the point. Will the user ever twig what's really going on here?

What a dowser is feeling is buried in noise... which we all ignore due to our adaptability as humans. Reducing the noise floor and tuning in is all down to us. Not easy, but it's there!?
