Packard Bell has announced a voluntary safety recall of the battery contained in certain of its Easynote laptops, due to potentially defective battery cells.
Packard Bell has announced a voluntary safety recall of the battery contained in certain of its Easynote laptops, due to potentially defective battery cells.
The battery cells contained in the affected units may experience internal short circuits which can potentially cause the cells to overheating and/or catch fire. There is no risk of electrocution to the user, states the company. There have been no reports of injuries.Specifically, the Packard Bell EasyNote MX36, MX37, MX51 and MX52 are affected, with the affected units mainly sold in Europe. The recall only affects those manufactured between July and December 2007.
