We've probably all seen the 'magic tap fountain' where water runs endlessly from a tap magically suspended midair... well, maybe this is the lighting equivalent. Behold the liquid lamp, one to make you look twice!According to MyModernMet.com, it's designed by South Korean Kim Yeongwoo and is dubbed the "Pouring Lamp":
"It is a fun lighting concept perfect for those who love optical illusions. The lamp freezes "tea" as it spills in mid-air. Simply give the tea bag a tug to turn it on."
It's also highlighted by Yanko Design - a "web magazine dedicated to introducing the best modern international design, covering from industrial design, concepts, technology, interior design, architecture, exhibition and fashion" - in a more high falutin' way In the post "Pour Me Some Light" it writes:
Human actions play such a significant role in design; it's either evident in the form or in the function. In the Pouring Light, the action is evident in the form and is delightfully executed as well! With the motive of giving off "an emotional flow of light", the lights linger on with a mesmerizing effect thanks to the use of phosphorescence in the "water" part.
