Build your own Interactive Multitouch Display

Now, we would hate for you to think that we are easily impressed.

But we are.

If you haven't got the £5,000 to buy your very own Microsoft Surface, just follow the lead of 'Turkey Tek' and build your own.

Thanks to the Instructables tome of knowledge, Gadget Freak brings to you the home-made Interactive Multitouch Display. Using parts any self-respecting electrical engineer probably has lying around the house anyway, the Interactive Multitouch Display is made up of a projector, a modified webcam and a home-made acrylic whiteboard, among other bits and pieces.

Watch the video and sit in awed admiration or stew in rampant jealousy. If nothing else, it includes some trippy electronic music which is what you need just before the weekend.

Hey,

Thanks for mentioning one of our projects, we're glad you liked instructables. If you thought the multitouch display was interesting you should check out some of our other projects. Right now we have a few contests going on. If you check their pages here http://www.instructables.com/group/lasercutter/ and here http://www.instructables.com/group/officesupplieschallenge/ you can find all the great projects that have been submitted.

Hi Billy,

Thanks for the comment.

Your contests are fantastic ideas and are proving to be incredibly popular.

We'll keep our eyes peeled and we're sure the winners will be well on their way to neverending fame and glory (well, almost).

I can recommend everybody to join our NUI (Natural User Interface) Group community at nuigroup.com, where we have a blog/wiki and forums related to multi-touch hardware and software

I also keep a personal blog at multitouch.nl
