Ring ring ring goes the telephone light flasher

If there’s one thing we hate more than track work on the Victoria line, it’s not being able to hear the damn phone when it’s ringing.

(Admittedly, this is probably due to years of listening to music at deafening levels. Yes, we are those people you hate on the tube who play their iPod so loud you can hear the music several carriages away).

Thanks to this clever ringing phone light flasher gadget found on Aaroncake’s electronic circuits page, you can now have a light happily flashing away as someone tries to give you a call. No word yet on a gadget that can help you avoid someone you really don’t want to speak to, but we’ll keep you posted. But that’s what caller ID is for, isn’t it?

Loyal readers of this blog will be familiar with some of Aaroncake’s work that has previously featured in Gadget Freak, namely the very cool strobe light.

Now if someone could figure out a way to make the vibrate function on our ancient Nokia 3200 actually work when it’s set to silent, we’re pretty sure this invention would be better than Long Island Ice Teas.

Actually, we’re not so sure about that. Long Island Ice Teas are quite good (Not to mention potent.)

This was on "Not the 9 O'Clock News" years ago as an aid for the deaf so they know when the phone rings so they can answer it!
