Are you up for the Sputnik challenge?

Technology is a funny old thing.

Fifty years ago, Soviets engineers launched the Sputnik 1 into the final frontier the whole world marvelled at such a feat of space technology. And how time has progressed. That old fellow called technology has advanced to such an extent that a similar satellite could be built of parts so commonplace in our twenty-first century world, that any engineer probably has the parts lying around their home already.

For those engineers interested in conquering the final frontier, we bring to you a story about the BBC Sputnik challenge, a space race to find someone who can build a satellite the soonest. And, who knows, your pride and joy might even be launched into space.
