OpenTracker v2 is an Arduino-based system, so we are on familiar territory, and it’s a GPS/GLONASS vehicle tracker.
The people behind it, Tigal, are raising funds on the Indiegogo crowd-funding website.
As the name indicates, it’s actually the second version of the firm’s open source GPS/GLONASS vehicle tracking system. It can display results on Googlemaps or OpenStreetMaps.
As well as tracking single or multiple vehicles, it also monitors the speed and altitude of the objects, among other information. And as you would expect, it can save logs of location data for later use.
The Arduino Due compatible module has an Atmel SAM3A8C ARM controller, a Quectel M95 GSM/GPRS modem and a Quectel L76 GPS/GLONASS module with Assisted GPS and CANbus.
It’s not looking great on the funding front, however. At time of writing, with just 45 hours left, they have raised €2,278 of their €50,000 goal.
