Silica brings NFC to Embedded Live

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Silica has extended its support for developers of RFID (radio frequency identification) and near-field communication (NFC) embedded applications by introducing the SERIZ design tool.

The design tool will be one of the technologies Silica will be demonstrating at Embedded Live which is being held at Earls Court, London in October 20-21.

The expectation is the tool will simplify the design of NFC systems. It provides a complete set of development tools enabling rapid design for enhanced security and compatibility to different kinds of RFID tags on the market.

NFC is already being used in niche contactless ticketing systems, but the killer application in mobile phones is now a possibility.

The reason is new forms of highly integrated silicon, development tools and secure applications software for the Android operating system.
