A three-hour workshop by Andrew Eliasz, technical director at First Technology Transfer, will take the lid off embedded Linux design at Embedded Live 19-21 October at Earls Court, Lonodn.
"This workshop is aimed at those who are planning or contemplating embarking on a Linux based project," says Eliasz.
Why consider a move to Linux?
"This may be because their existing 8 or 16 bit microcontroller applications are running out of resources, or are based on proprietary code that is becoming more and more difficult to maintain, or, will need to provide sophisticate GUI interfaces, or a web server for connecting to the application system via a web browser," says Eliasz.
Other considerations may include migrating away from a specialised small or midsized operating system such as ThreadX, uCOSII or eCOS, or, even, from an embedded Microsoft Windows based system.
Embedded Live 2010 is now taking delegate registrations for the UK exhibition which takes place at Earls Court, London 20-21 October 2010.
Confirmed exhibitors include: NXP Semiconductor, RS, ARM, Tektronix, Nokia - Qt Software, XJTAG, Pebble Bay Consulting and Pico Technology.
