Earls Court outside 250.jpgTime has flown and Tuesday October 19 has arrived, which means Embedded Live has started, in Conference form!

The Exhibition kicks off tomorrow, of course, and continues on Thursday, running parallel with the Conference.

We will be tweeting and filming and live blogging and walking and talking from the show floor tomorrow, courtesy of the CoverItLive live blogging tool.

In April Cambridge-based smart metering specialist Sentec has been given a Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of its growth over the last three years, during which the company more than trebled its overseas earnings to £4.3m.

Clifford Dive, business development director at Sentec, will present a keynote presentation on Thursday October 21 at Embedded Live, which takes place at Earls Court, London.

Sentec's smart metering technology is now included in over five million - around half - of the smart electricity meters installed in the US.

13octCliffDive.jpgClifford Dive's presentation is aimed at the 'Connected M2M Devices' audience,  particularly in the smart metering and smart grid sector.

Coming initially from a technical background in the early days of real-time microprocessor products, a large part of Clifford's business life has been dedicated to embedded software development

Before joining Sentec this year, Dive woked for three years with mobile phone giant Qualcomm, initially leading the professional services team, and later promoting product innovation in the User Focused Innovation Team.

Embedded Live 2010 is now taking delegate registrations for the UK exhibition which takes place at Earls Court, London 20-21 October 2010.

Rohde & Schwarz surprised the test industry in July when it announced its first ever oscilloscopes, which will be on show for visitors to try out at Embedded LIve (October 19-21) in London next month.

This is a big commitment by the Germany-based RF and microwave test systems specialist.

Rohde & Schwarz has said these first 2GHz and 500MHz product families are the first in a planned line of oscilloscopes.

Embedded Live in Earls Court, London will be running three days of conference sessions on October 19-21st covering optimisation of embedded hardware such as multicore processors and FPGAs.

Register today and save £200 on on-site pricing.

The design of embedded software for multicore systems is radically different from design for uni-processor systems.

In the truly parallel environment of multicore processing, many traditional design assumptions of sequential or pseudo-parallel execution are no longer valid.

Embedded Live at Earls Court, London is running a half-day tutorial on Tuesday October 19th in which David Kalinsky, a technical training specialist, will describe an approach embedded system design that takes advantage of software parallelism offered by symmetric and asymmetric multicore chips.

"For example, it can no longer be assumed that tasks of the same priority do not run concurrently. Nor can disabling of interrupts necessarily guarantee mutual exclusion," said Kalinsky.

As the industry emerges slowly from the dark days of 2009, the UK's diverse community of embedded design firms are active in markets as varied as aerospace, industrial control, wireless, security and medical.

With all of these sectors emerging from the industry downturn in 2009, there is a real need for a technology event which will support design activities with skills training sessions on tools and hardware, product workshops run by global suppliers and discussions on technology trends.

Embedded Live is expected to host more than 100 companies when it takes place on 20-21 October 2010 at the Earls Court in London.

Those companies will be showing embedded technologies such as microcontrollers, design and development tools and embedded computers, from components to sub-systems, displays and communication devices.

The UK gets a major embedded electronics conference and exhibition later this year.

Called the Embedded Live Exhibition and Conference, it brings together the EE Times Group's Embedded Systems Conference and Electronics Weekly Live, organised by Reed Business Information.

NEW Floorplan 090609 colour small.jpgJust to let you know, there is a new, colour co-ordinated online Floorplan for the show.

It means there is even less excuse not to come and visit the EW team in the main visitor hub at the very centre of the show!

Make sure you come and say hello! And did I mention the free internet pods and free wireless connection?

EW Live.jpgWelcome indeed to our new blog, Electronics Weekly Live. It will be the place to find all the information and details about the forthcoming Electronics Weekly Live which takes place within National Electronics Week (see www.electronicsweekly.com/live)

In a nutshell, the practical "how to" seminar programme and exhibition will showcase the leading design innovations within the electronic industry. It will provide a technical platform for semiconductor design, hardware and software applications along with test design solutions

The location is Earls Court and the date is 16-18 June, but before then we want to provide you with all the info you could need around the event, keeping you up to date with the latest developments, for example details of speakers and presentations, any deals or special offers surrounding the event and insights into some of the showcase events that will be taking place (such as Richard Noble and his BLOODHOUND SSC).

Stay tuned, bookmark the blogs's URL, sign up for the RSS feed, and - for anything else - remember you can always contact us:
