Arrow adds to European LED lighting plans

Arrow Electronics has stepped up its activities in the European LED lighting market.

I had wondered whether Arrow in Europe was as focused on the LED lighting market as some other distributors, who perhaps shout more loudly about their LED strategies.

This latest European deal with lens and reflector specialsit Fraen indicates a steady focus on the lighting market.

With this agreement, the broadliner has teamed with optic specialist Fraen to increase the range of lighting products it offers in the UK and Northern Europe.

US-based Fraen develops optical components such as high-efficiency TIR, lenses and reflectors which are used with LED lighting modules.

According to Arrow, the Fraen technology will bring a flat-top geometry to LED assemblies.

"This allows for a wider range of beam-shaping options and new reflectors which use faceted-structure technology providing excellent colour mixing and uniformity," said the company.
