Suppliers visiting customers along with their distributors can still pay off.
Future Electronics has been named by Tyco Electronics as its UK and Ireland distributor of the year.
According to Fred Knowles, v-p of technical sales at Future Electronics, a positive development was a new programme of joint customer visits with Tyco Electronics' engineers.
"This has helped us tremendously in winning new designs," said Knowles.
A key factor, said Mick Finch, Tyco Electronics' UK distribution manager, was the distributor's focus on the lighting market. "This has been very successful for both parties," said Finch.
