Nujira has signed a global distribution agreement with Richardson Electronics.

This is the Cambridge-based power module firm's first global distribution deal and is in line with its plan to address the cellular infrastructure and defence markets.

Commenting, Tim Haynes, CEO Nujira, said "Richardson Electronics offers us a global channel to market, with sales and technical support locations in every major market in North and South America, Asia and Europe."

Nujira's modules are based on its high accuracy tracking (HAT) technology which improves the efficiency of RF power transmitters by modulating the voltage supplied to the power amplifier (PA) in line with the transmission envelope.

According to Haynes, Nujira is already engaged with 13 cellular basestation manufacturers, one of which, Sumitomo Electrical Industries of Japan, has publicly announced products based on Coolteq modules, with other manufacturers set to follow during 2009.
