Surtech Distribution will add power outlets to its enclosures business with the acquisition of intellectual property rights to a range of power distribution units (PDUs) formally manufactured by Modular Power Products of Mildenhall, Suffolk.

"Modular Power Products PDUs perfectly complement our range of enclosure systems; they can be factory-fitted into racks during final assembly," commented Sonia Johnson, Surtech's sales manager.

Following the deal, the Andover-based distributor said it will manufacture and  stock a standard range of vertical and horizontal 19in. mountable PDUs.

"Our Andover in-house manufacturing facility enables us to be flexible enough to supply bespoke customer systems at low cost and on minimum lead-times," says Johnson.

The PDUs are constructed from lightweight and versatile aluminium channel section.  Various outlets, switches, spacers, indicators, and circuit protection devices can be assembled to suit individual requirements.
