Mobile TV chip firm signs up AMD sales executive

Former AMD executive Jay Nunez has joined Mirics Semiconductor and he has been tasked with driving the digital Tv tuner company's commercial growth in the US and Europe.

Nunez has a CV which includes AMD, National Semiconductor, Wavecom and Motorola Semiconductor.

At Mirics he will be v-p of Americas and EMEA


"His wealth of commercial experience and success within the wireless, processor and electronics serv ice industries have equipped him well to guide Mirics through the business challenges as we continue to extend the commercial reach of our hardware and software technology," said Simon Atkinson, CEO Mirics.

Hampshire-based Mirics has a silicon platform,called FlexiTV, which integrates RF and mixed signal silicon with software demodulation technology in a digital TV and radio tuner for portable devices.

It has already won design-ins in Asia.
