NXP Semiconductors has a range of HD set-top box chips for multi-channel broadcast receivers.
The 1250DMIPS ARM Cortex-A9-based STB SoC family includes a number of models designed for different operator network categories, including the PNX849x for satellite set-top boxes, the PNX848x for cable and the PNX847x for telco and over-the-top on-line VOD solutions.

It is an OpenGL 2.0 compliant 3D HW platform and the chips incorporate an Imagination Technologies PowerVR 3D graphics processing unit (GPU) which is used for rendering programming navigation user interfaces, games and other 3D content.

The Cortex-A9 CPU drives the user interface environments based on Adobe Flash and web browser technologies.

There is also hardware elements for content format decoding along side ARM architecture optimisations for Javascript and Flash components.
