Avnet Abacus has won the 2009 distributor of the year award from connector supplier Hirose in the UK.
According to Brian Cullis, general manager, EMEA distribution at Hirose: "The Avnet Abacus team once again delivered truly exceptional performance, in a year that has been challenging for the industry as a whole, and saw considerable change within their own organisation."
Avnet Abacus only came in to being as an entity last July when it was created from Avnet Time and the passives and e-mech business from Abacus, which Avnet bought in January 2009.
