Mouser Electronics is continuing its push in to Europe with the opening of a sales office in Milan.

This continues Mouser's roll out plan of sites in Europe, which began with Munich and also now includes the UK, which also services Scandinavia, France and Israel.

The Italian customer service centre which is due to open in September, will be the distributor's third European office.

It's other two offices are in the UK and Germany.

"Already our European sales for 2010 have outstripped the whole of 2009 - which was itself a record - and we expect to have sales in Europe in excess of $75m this year," said Mark Burr-Lonnon, Mouser's v-p for Europe.

Mouser is in the middle of a plan to create a global catalogue distribution business and it currently has almost 40% of sales outside the US.

"Our sales success in Europe also means that we need to increase the levels of local support we offer to our customers here," said Burr-Lonnon.

He also said the distributor was adding more European-focused suppliers to its linecard.
