RS Components has added an Arduino design resource to its DesignSpark community website.

Since it emerged from the Interaction Design Institute in Ivrea, Italy, Arduino has been used by developers for the design of control interfaces.

It consists of an open hardware design for a single-board microcontroller, with embedded I/O support and a standard programming language.

This language is based on Wiring and is essentially C/C++.

According to Glenn Jarrett, Head of Electronics Marketing at RS Components: "DesignSpark enables users to find the latest resources and link to the full Arduino developer community."

RS will profile Arduino MCU boards, shield boards and workshop kits.

The move supports the distributor's offering of the Arduino Duemilanove board, support modules, components and resources.
