I have been making enquiries to explain the odd Government gobbledee-gook that left everyone perplexed as to its meaning.
The director of the Electronics Enabled Products Knowledge Transfer Network (EEP KTN), Paul Palmer, tells me the Government statement that left us scratching our heads is an acknowledgement of the good work intermediaries, such as KTNs and consultancies, are doing in helping to promote innovation.
But also these intermediary agencies are confirmed to be eligible to apply for funding under the innovation collaborations product, a fund that is intended to:
help to promote and enable knowledge development and exchange between businesses and between businesses and knowledge base institutions.
Palmer also said some interesting things about the KTNs, positive things and he has been involved with this particular KTN since it was a Prime Faraday partnership, for 10 years in fact. The transformation from Faraday to this particular KTN appears to have been extremely successful – more of which in next week’s Electronics Weekly print edition.
