Alan Hutton of Gennum, who found this little gem, writes: “Being Scottish I was immediately drawn to the William Wallace ale with a real malty taste but not overly loaded with alcohol compared to some of the others beers on offer. With a slight taste of smoky peat coming through it was an enjoyable start to an evening and did somewhat remind me of being back in Glasgow with a few notable differences – we were sitting outside, the sun was shining and the beer was damm expensive !. Other beers on tap include the Atlantic IPA, a light malt Été Belgian ale, the Norwegian Ellhorn, the German VesterWeisse (or wheat beer) and Schlager (Munich malt and Czech Saaz hops) , and the rather unusually named trio of James Brown, Cole Porter and Stevie Ray ales. Did not venture into the attached restaurant but the menu did look interesting with distinct overtures towards Italian cuisine. Definitely worth a visit for any beer lover and since it’s located downtown just off the City Hall main square (Radhuspladsen) it is very easy to find.
