Energy Micro appoints TI-er as sales v-p for Asia Pac
Energy Micro has appointed a v-p of sales for the Asia Pacific region, Andrea Marchi.
He joins the microcontroller supplier’s general manager and director of sales for Greater China, Bryan Hung, at the company’s newly opened Asia headquarters in Hong Kong.
Andrea joins Energy Micro from Texas Instruments, Dallas, where he was general manager of the firm’s C5000 DSP business unit.
“Initial market reaction to Energy Micro’s low power EFM32 Gecko microcontroller has already been very positive in Asia-Pac and it’s the right time to establish a stronger foothold there,” said Marchi.
“Success in medical, metering, security and other battery operated product sectors in the APAC region is there to be built on,” said Andreas Koller, v-p sales and marketing worldwide.
Energy Micro launched its first EFM32 Gecko microcontroller family in 2009 which is based on the ARM Cortex-M3 core.
