Acal’s Jefferies believes specialisation plan is working
Acal is continuing with its plan to be a global supplier and manufacturer in a number of specific product and technology areas.
And it seems to be working.
The latest acquisition by the UK group is German manufacturer MTC Micro Tech Components, which will see it running a business manufacturing electromagnetic shielding products for the European and Asian industrial markets.
“The acquisition of MTC is a further step in the implementation of our specialisation strategy,” said Nick Jefferies, group chief executive of Acal.
“A combination of specialist acquisitions and a move towards more highly differentiated specialist products is driving higher margins which we anticipate will lead to increased profitability in the first half in line with our expectations,” said Jefferies.
This is Acal’s largest acquisition since the purchase of BFi OPTiLAS, the photonic component distributor in 2009.
