Elektra Awards 2007 – The Awards Night
The location was The Hilton on Park Lane, the host was Sir Trevor McDonald, and a good night was had by all. The presentation of the Elektra European Electronics Industry Awards were the main course for the evening, sandwiched between the starter of magicians and the desert of a Sinatra and Dean Martin impersonator…
As well as Sir Robin Saxby, chairman emeritus at ARM, picking up a Lifetime Achievemnt Award, both component distributor Anglia Components and IP firm PicoChip Designs shared the Company of the Year Award with on the winner’s rostrum. For the award Readers’ Choice Product Innovation of the Year, Electronics Weekly readers voted the Nintendo Wii games console as the Product Innovation of the Year, and I certainly wouldn’t argue with that. The winner of the Student Engineer of the Year Award was Carol Marsh who is an EngD Research Engineer at the Scottish iSLI (Institute for System Level Integration). Congratulations to all the companies that were nominated for awards, and particular congratulations to all the winners. You can find the full list of winners here. A full gallery of pics from the event will follow, and a webcast of the awards should be appearing online on Friday. Next year’s Elektra Awards will be held in Munich, 10 November.
