Android platform stats – June 2014

Google has published its latest platform stats – based on active Android devices interacting with Google Play - and KitKat continues to increase. Share for version 4.4 grows from 8.5% in May to 10.3 in June (a 21% increase).

Looking at it from one angle, Android 4.x.x (ICS, Jelly Bean and KitKit) now accounts for 84% of all (Google Play) active devices.

It’s also goodbye to tablet oriented Honeycomb (3.2) and its “holographic” UI design, as it slips below recognition of 0.1% distribution.

See Google’s developers blog for the latest figures. (“Data collected during a 7-day period ending on June 4, 2014. Any versions with less than 0.1% distribution are not shown.”)
