Android platform stats - April 2014

Android platform stats – April 2014

Statistics, of course, can be twisted in all sorts of ways. And to say Android “KitKat” takeup doubled in April sounds dramatic, but we are talking about a low-base for the newest version of Android…

Google has published its latest platform stats – based on active Android devices interacting with Google Play - and they indicate an increase for version 4.4 from a 2.5% share in March to 5.3% in April.

“Jelly Bean” in all its varieties accounts for 61.4% of Android devices.

See Google’s developers blog for the latest figures. (“Data collected during a 7-day period ending on April 1, 2014. Any versions with less than 0.1% distribution are not shown.”)
