Android platform stats July

Android platform stats – July 2014

Google has published its latest platform stats – based on active Android devices interacting with Google Play - and KitKat is the big winner.

The latest version of Android – at least, until Android “L” emerges in the autumn – sees a large monthly jump, up 31.6% on June (from a 13.6% share to a 17.9% share).

That’s the waxing, but where’s the waning? Well Gingerbread Android (2.3.3 – 2.3.7), once so prevalent, is shrivelling to a size less than KitKat…
