Original Android phone gets Jelly Bean-ified
Here’s an interesting curio. The world’s first Android phone – the HTC device known as “T-Mobile G1″ or the “HTC Dream” – has been Jelly Bean-ified…
A post on the xds-developers forum reports “a working CM10 port of Jelly Bean to the HTC G1, the first android phone!”. Check out the video.
Elements of the port that “jcarrz1″ lists as working include:
- CM features
- Google Now – partial
Functionality that has not quite made the transition include:
The Inquirer (First ever Android phone gets upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean) and ITProPortal(Devs port Jelly Bean to HTC Dream, the first ever Android smartphone) are among the websites reporting the port.
Quite sensibly, the poster reminds us “Remember, we are not responsible if you brick your phone. You must have proper 2708 SPL and radio. Follow the guide!”
