Samsung extends Galaxy Gear compatibility
Samsung is extending the number of devices compatible with its Galaxy Gear smart watch.
As part of the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update, the watch will work with the Galaxy S4, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II.
Samsung says it will also extend Galaxy Gear compatibility to other Galaxy devices – such as the S4 Mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and S4 Zoom – through a separate software update beginning globally at the end of October (exact dates will vary by country and carrier they caution).
“Extending the Galaxy Gear compatibility to more Galaxy devices reflects our deep commitment to continuing to deliver our consumers enriched mobile experiences,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile division, Samsung Electronics.
“Through a significant effort to enhance and enrich Samsung Galaxy experience, Samsung continues to empower our users to have smart freedom in their mobile lives with Galaxy Gear.”
